Employee Spotlight: Spencer Lacy

Spencer Lacy

Hi, my name is Spencer Lacy, and I’m a test engineer for Enstrom’s R&D Engineering Department.

That means I help plan and execute ground and flight tests, a crucial step in receiving certification for our helicopters. My day-to-day responsibilities might include writing test reports, designing fixtures, and programming instruments and data acquisition equipment – all to ensure the final test execution is a success.

I have my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, where I also minored in aerospace engineering. I’m currently pursuing a certificate in flight test and eval.

I’ve been in my position for about three years now, and I’d have to say my favorite part of the job is how much collaboration building helicopters requires. There’s not a dull day because I constantly find opportunities to learn new things and grow my engineering skillset.

During the warmer months, when not at work, I enjoy outdoor photography, backpacking, and distance running. This past winter has led me to try out a few new activities such as snowboarding and indoor climbing. You can also catch me performing in community theater plays or at the Green Bay Dinner Detective Show.
