Rotors ‘n Ribs Returns to Goshen Municipal Airport
Rotors ‘n Ribs invites helicopter pilots and industry professionals to fire up their engines as organizers fire up their grills for this year’s premier Midwest helicopter fly-in at Goshen Municipal Airport (GSH) on Saturday July 11.
The fly-in features flight demonstrations, free entry to America’s Freedom Fest, networking opportunities, and, of course, delicious ribs.
Helicopter arrivals are welcome from up until 4:00 PM with space open for landing between A4 and A5 along the north side of taxiway A. Guests driving to the event are encouraged to use Gate 7 as a VIP entrance. A golf cart will be available to transport guests to the check-in table located inside the Sweet Helicopters Hangar. As in previous years, Rotors ‘n Ribs has partnered with America’s Freedom Fest to offer guests a spectacular nighttime airshow and fireworks display. GSH Airport Manager Randy Sharkey said it was quite the undertaking to prepare Goshen to welcome 15,000 spectators.
“For the longest time, we weren’t sure if this year’s Rotors ‘n Ribs would make it off the ground,” said Sharkey. “Goshen Municipal Airport received FAA grant monies we’ve put toward some major airport improvements, and it wasn’t until recently that I was confident these renovations wouldn’t interfere with flight operations in July.”
Many manufacturers will have demo units and representatives on hand. Enstrom Helicopter is offering test flights across the Indiana countryside in their latest 480B Elite and 280FX helicopter models between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Invitations have been sent.
