Employee Spotlight: Rich Hosking
Every time I see an Enstrom helicopter flying overhead, I can’t help but be filled with pride knowing I played a part in making it fly. My name is Rich Hosking, and I help produce the fan shrouds that funnel air flow toward the piston motor, keeping it cool.
Building machines to the safety and performance standards we set for ourselves requires dedication and integrity from every team member. Luckily, our team has consistently proved up to the task, which is why Enstrom has earned my loyalty for approaching 20 years.
I served a five-year tour in the U.S. Army where I specialized in aviation. After completing my tour, I knew I wanted to pursue an aviation-focused career. Fortunately, I found Enstrom Helicopter, and it immediately felt like family.
While I call Michigan’s Upper Peninsula home and am a proud Yooper, I am originally from Chicago, and I’m still a Bears fan (Packers fans, put down your pitchforks). My commute might be on the long side at 150 miles round trip, but I find it worth it to be a part of such a terrific community.
When I’m not helping produce top-notch helicopters, you can find me out enjoying the great outdoors. Some of my favorite pastimes involve hunting and riding down trails in my side-by-side UTV. However, when the weather’s less than ideal, I’m more than content to spend the day relaxing indoors with my dog and cat.
I am incredibly thankful to new owner Chuck Surack for stepping in to purchase Enstrom last year, allowing us employees to return to the factory floor. He shares the same vision for Enstrom’s future that I have, and I am proud to help propel Enstrom Helicopter to even greater heights!
