Enstrom is Back!

Workers at Enstrom

Perhaps the question we’ve been getting asked most lately at Enstrom is, “How are things going?” In a word, great!

The factory is buzzing with excitement not felt in many years. As of the date of this newsletter, we have over 70 employees, and we are adding more every week. Enstrom has rehired manufacturing people, engineers, product planners, buyers, administrative staff, product support staff, inventory control staff, and shipping personnel. Most of these people were previously employed at Enstrom, and bring with them significant experience. This has allowed us to restart operations quickly and efficiently.

The FAA Type Certificate for the 480B has been transferred to the new Enstrom, along with all the technical data, rights, tooling, equipment, etc. Enstrom has applied for the issuance of a FAA Production Certificate based on our previously approved quality system, quality assurance manual, and Production Certificate. We have begun manufacturing aircraft, and expect the first helicopters to start rolling off the line by the end of the year!

In the meantime, Enstrom has begun manufacturing parts under our Type Certificate authority with approval from the FAA. This allows Enstrom to manufacture fully FAA certified parts, which are exportable (including the issuance of 8130 tags.) Enstrom has already begun shipping some of these parts to customers, both in the US and internationally.

The Grand Rapids FSDO recently visited the factory and approved the Repair Station. Once we receive the actual certificate Enstrom will begin shipping overhauled components. ,Technical support is being provided currently, as well as Airworthiness and Engineering support (Service Bulletins, accident investigations, etc.)

On the Sales side Enstrom recently displayed at the EAA Airventure extravaganza in Oshkosh, WI, the worlds biggest airshow. This fall we’ll be attending; Private Flyer in New York, Barret-Jackson in Houston, and APOA The Hangout in Tampa. Stop out and see us!

Visit the factory and there will be no doubt that Enstrom is back, and better than ever. Stay tuned for more announcements on new products, new shows, and more milestones.
