Enstrom Partners with Legacy Aviation Learning Center, Prioritizing Workforce Development

On August 2, Enstrom Senior Vice President Todd Tetzlaff attended the EAA-sponsored Menominee Airport Day on behalf of both Enstrom and Legacy Aviation Learning Center.
The Michigan-based aviation maintenance education facility specializes in training Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) through an accelerated 12-month program.
Tetzlaff had the opportunity to promote fresh job openings at Enstrom as well as exciting educational programs offered by Legacy Aviation Learning Center. He believes that, by promoting these educational programs, he’s building up the pool of qualified individuals who will one day be capable of contributing to the maintenance of Enstrom’s helicopters.

“Growing and attracting talent is one of the biggest challenges facing the aviation industry,” said Tetzlaff. “Sometimes the tried-and-true method of putting up a table, offering some swag, and actually talking to people can make a difference.”
Airport Day draws a wide variety of people to Menominee Regional Airport – from aviation enthusiasts to curious families to Civil Air Patrol cadets. Tetzlaff believes it’s an ideal environment to tap into the same sense of wonder for aviation he experienced as a child.
He said, “I planted quite a few seeds that day. Kids saw the helicopter and the video of young adults working on amazing flying machines, and they thought, ‘Maybe I can do that someday!’ Sometimes, that’s all it takes. You don’t need to be in the cockpit to be a key part of aviation’s future.”
Tetzlaff said multiple people – some looking to start their career, others looking to change course – stopped by to pick up an information packet or fill out a job application.
