Employee Spotlight: Lyonel Jean-Baptiste

Lyonel Jean-Baptiste

My name is Lyonel Jean-Baptiste, and I’m a liaison engineer for Enstrom Helicopter.

Since I was a kid, I always had a natural love for aircraft. I loved to draw them and build models with LEGO bricks, so for me, working in the aerospace industry is more than just a job, it’s the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

So, what does a liaison engineer do? They essentially serve as a bridge between different teams and departments with Enstrom. I typically help problem solve and perform root cause analysis whenever we discover issues with the fabrication process, at which point, Material Review Board (MRB) Engineering will step in and provide support.

I attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Pôle Universitaire Léonard de Vinci in France. Before joining Enstrom in December 2022, I worked for a number of aerospace-related businesses and organizations, including Kaman Aerospace and American Airlines. I also helped secure contracts for the U.S. Army, the Air Force, NASA, and SpaceX.

I can honestly say that Enstrom is unlikely any other company I’ve worked for. I greatly appreciate the family-like work environment and the pride each employee puts into their own individual specialty. I have never encountered the level of commitment this team puts into the collaborative effort of building an aircraft. The engineering department embodies a model of servant leadership and support I’ve found invaluable.

Outside of work, I love to take long walks on the beach on sunny days. I have a 14-year-old son named Lyonel III, and two daughters – 8-year-old Bella Genevieve and 7-year-old Emma. Someday, I would love to obtain my pilot license and finally fly in one of the gorgeous machines we build.
